Barcelona are preparing to sign Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic from Juventus. However, they could face stiff competition from clubs in the Premier League who are also interested in acquiring his services.

The report first emerged in reliable Italian media outlet Tuttosport who have claimed that Juventus have a desperate need to sell players in order to alleviate their financial misery. The Old Lady of Turin were recently found guilty of financial mismanagement and accounting errors by a court in Italy and had 15 points docked from their league tally this season.

Barcelona already have a world class striker in their ranks. Polish superstar Robert Lewandowski joined the side from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2022 and has made a strong start to life in Spain. Having played just 23 matches, Lewandowski has already scored 22 goals and has also registered five assists for the Catalan club, averaging 1.28 goal contributions every 90 minutes.

However, Lewandowski is now 35 years old and is approaching the twilight of his career. 

As such, Barcelona are already preparing for the future and are looking for a worthy successor to take his place in order to ensure that the transition is smooth.

Because of these reasons, Vlahovic has emerged as a potential candidate for the La Liga leaders. The Blaugrana have taken an active interest in the player and are keeping a tab on his situation at Juventus.

It won’t be surprising if Barcelona end up taking advantage of Juventus’ situation in Italy right now and end up making a move for Vlahovic in the summer. According to the same report in Tuttosport, they are even ready to shell out €80 million in order to bring him to the Camp Nou.

However, they aren’t the only team interested in 

the Serbian and they will be facing plenty of competition from clubs in the Premier League. Arsenal were heavily interested in signing Vlahovic before he decided to join Juventus instead and it has been reported that Manchester United have also been linked with him in the recent days.

Besides the Premier League giants, Paris Saint-Germain are also being considered as a potential destination for him this summer.

Juventus had signed Vlahovic from Italian side Fiorentina for 75 million last January. Since then, he has made 36 appearances for them and has scored 16 goals while also providing four assists.
