The Belgian has emerged as one of the finest players in the Premier League in recent seasons and his movement, control of tempo, passing range, as well as goal contributions, have certainly placed London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea on high alert. Both sides are planning to add him to their respective squads and are contemplating and plotting ways to do that.
Both Arsenal and Chelsea were quite active during the recent summer transfer window. While the signings of Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko from defending Premier League champions Manchester City headlined transfer activities for the Gunners, the highlight of the Blues’ summer transfer window proved to be the acquisitions of Raheem Sterling (also from Manchester City), Kalidou Koulibaly, and Wesley Fofana.
Of course, Chelsea has experienced dealing with Brighton and Hove Albion this summer already as they have signed their left-back Marc Cucurella for a hefty fee. Chelsea has also appointed former Brighton manager Graham Potter as their head coach after sacking Thomas Tuchel.
A report via The Sun reveals that Trossard has a contract that runs out at the end of this season and he is likely not to extend his stay with the Seagulls. This would make him an easy signing for Arsenal, but Chelsea is also keen on reuniting him with his former manager, Graham Potter.
When asked about his future by the BBC, he said, “It’s difficult to say anything about that now and completely depends on which club would come.
“[It will depend on if] I feel good and things are good on a private level. But I also know how good I am at Brighton, also with new coach Roberto De Zerbi it looks promising.”
However, the London rivals are expected to face stiff competition for Atletico Madrid for his signature. Brossard may find it difficult to evaluate his options given the riches at his disposal at the moment.
